The short version: a food and beverage floor must resist the facility's chemistry, drain completely, stay slip-safe when wet, cove sanitarily at the walls, and hold up to thermal shock and traffic. The six universal requirements

  • Thermal shock tolerance. Hot product, hot water, and steam wash-down cycle the floor's temperature. Rigid epoxy crazes; urethane cement tolerates it.

  • Sanitation. Seamless, non-porous field with sanitary coved base — no joints to harbor bacteria.
