Epoxy & Concrete Polishing Laborer / Installer

    Pay

$23–$28 per hour, based on experience

    Schedule

Full-time, flexible — mostly daytime with some night shifts to keep client facilities operational

    Travel

Based out of Tracy, CA, with crew travel to jobsites across California, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas, including overnight and multi-day trips

A polished floor or an epoxy system doesn't get installed by machines alone. It gets installed by a crew that shows up on time, preps the slab right, runs the grinders and applies the coating to spec, and keeps the jobsite clean while doing it. That crew is DTI's product as much as the material is. This is a hands-on floor installation role — most jobs are local to the Central Valley, but a meaningful part of the work travels, always as a crew, never alone.

    Responsibilities

You will work under a crew lead on surface prep, installation, and jobsite execution, on both local and traveling jobs.

    • Prep concrete surfaces for coating: grinding, shot blasting, patching, crack repair, and moisture testing as directed
    • Mix and apply epoxy, polyaspartic, and other resinous flooring systems to spec
    • Operate floor grinders, polishers, burnishers, and related equipment
    • Apply concrete stains, sealers, and polishing systems to the finish the job calls for
    • Set up and break down jobsite equipment, materials, and containment for surrounding areas
    • Follow the crew lead's direction and the job's spec sheet without shortcuts — on a resinous floor, the steps happen in order for a reason
    • Keep pace on jobs with tight shutdown or turnaround windows while maintaining a clean, organized, safe jobsite
    • Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment, including on out-of-town jobs
    • Travel with the crew to out-of-state jobs as scheduled and work some night hours when needed
    • Communicate problems on the floor to the crew lead immediately rather than working around them quietly

    Requirements

    • Some hands-on experience in concrete polishing, epoxy flooring, or a closely related trade (concrete, flooring, construction labor)
    • Willingness and ability to travel for work, including multi-day trips to CA, AZ, NV, and TX
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional night shifts
    • Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly, kneel, bend, and stand on concrete for a full shift
    • Comfortable working around chemicals, fumes, and dust with proper PPE (provided)
    • Reliable, on time, and able to take direction without needing it repeated
    • Valid driver's license

    Preferred, but not required:

    • Direct experience with epoxy, polyaspartic, or resinous flooring systems
    • Experience operating floor grinders, polishers, or burnishers
    • OSHA 10 Construction certification
    • Prior experience traveling for construction or installation work
    • Bilingual English/Spanish

    Ideal Candidate

The person who fits this crew shows up early, not on time. Learns the sequence of a resinous floor install instead of just doing what they're told step by step. Says something the moment they see a problem on the slab instead of hoping it works out. Fast learners move up quickly from Laborer into Installer and beyond — this isn't a role where years on paper matter more than what you can actually do on a floor.

    Compensation

Pay ranges from $23–$28 per hour, placed by experience: entry-level laborers learning the trade start at $23–$25, and installers with 1+ years of hands-on epoxy/concrete polishing experience who work independently on prep and application earn $25–$28. Overtime is paid per California law. On travel jobs, DTI covers lodging and per diem for meals — you are not paying out of pocket to work an out-of-town job. PPE and required safety gear are provided.
